038 Belux 3rd CONTEST MASCOT

This is the third and final mascot of my contest: Belux!
He stands for entry #3, the baby form of Absol!

"Be" is a prefix meaning "covered with" and "lux" is Latin for Light. I know it's ironic, because he is a dark-type, but even though, he brings fortunate events to ones that cross his way on a journey, so 'light' meaning happiness, luck and fortune.

Dex:
Belux, on the opposite of Absol, brings not disaster and unfortune for those that cross his way, but luck and happy events. This comes from the British and Japanese belief that a black cat brings luck and from the Chinese belief that the cat itself brings luck and fortune. Belux is a very calm pokémon, he is not aware that his presence brings luck, so he is scared by people frequently trying to capture him, so he's very evasive and often runs away. Because of that, Belux almost only appears at night, so it can't be seen. When moonlight hits its forehead, its power is boosted.

Belux was inspired on a Black cat, but more specifically on Kutsushita Nyanko [link] a white-socking cat, a character by San-X creation.
